Corporate Social Responsibility
We like to do it but we don’t like to talk about how good it makes us feel. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is something that we think of which belongs with big business and involves giving away money. But that’s when we confuse Philanthropy with CSR, because giving away money alone doesn’t mean you have a CSR strategy in place and its highly unlikely to grow your business.
CSR needs to be a profit centre because when it’s not then it becomes a discretionary spend and when business is not growing our cost centres and discretionary spends are the first to go.
In the attached presentation Peter looks at a number of case studies and the key learnings we can take from what they have done.
